Nebraska Child Welfare Financing Primer and Nebraska Child Welfare Blueprint

With the support of the Sherwood Foundation, ChildFocus partnered with Nebraska’s child welfare advocates to assess and document how Nebraska uses federal and state funding to support child welfare services. The Nebraska Child Welfare Financing Primer was designed to educate policymakers on how the State finances child welfare and ways it can better align its financing system with core principles and values to achieve better outcomes for children and families. ChildFocus presented the findings of the financing primer to state lawmakers in Nebraska in April 2015. In 2017, ChildFocus worked with the same group of advocates to create the Nebraska Child Welfare Blueprint Report, which tells the story of the state’s recent progress on child welfare reform and outlines key opportunities to continue improving outcomes for the state’s most vulnerable children and families.
